But, power outages are also causing problems for many people before they headed out the door Wednesday morning.
EPB says it had crews working a down power line near Highway 58 on Champion road. Dispatchers say 500 people are without power there and that there are than 1500 customers without power in the Tennessee Valley.
Volunteer Energy is also reporting extensive power outages. But they have no estimate because their corporate office in Decatur has lost power. So their automatic response system and outage management areas are down. All of this means they are taking reports manually which takes longer and less people can get through the phone lines.
But they do know Harriman Road and Mahan Gap Road are out of power in Hamilton County. Cleveland has a broken power pole and Polk County in Benton has at least 3 power poles down.. A tree fell on at least one line so much of that area is without power. Dispacthers also say a pole fell down at mile marker 18 on interstate 75 at the Hamilton County Bradley County line.
Harrison Bay's Wolftever Drive had some strong winds and a lot of damage to the whole area. Georgia power says it only has about 450 people without power in Trenton.
