Body Found by Judy Payne Searchers

Sources involved in the search for Judy Payne at Cloudland Canyon State Park say a body has been found. Dade County Sheriff Patrick Cannon says it was found at the base of a cliff around 4:05 pm.

He says they have not confirmed that it is the body of Ms. Payne at this time. Forensics investigators will be working to officially identify the body. Sheriff Cannon says Ms. Payne's family has been notified of the find.

He says foul play is not suspected. He says it seemed clear that the death was the result of a fall from a cliff that was about 200 feet high. He confirms that any continued search for Ms. Payne has been called off.

Judy Payne, from Rock Springs, Georgia, went missing Monday. Her car was found by a Cloudland Canyon Park Ranger at 10:30 pm Monday. Dozens of searchers have been combing the rugged mountain terrain for three days.
