Plane Crash on Brainerd Rd. - Picture Here
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Crews are on the scene of a plane crash on Brainerd Road in Chattanooga. The plane went down near the Qdoba Mexican Grill at 5798 Brainerd Rd., near Brainerd Village Shopping Center. The plane is a King Air Turbo Prop C90.
Gary Forester said that he and his wife, Frances, came on the scene shortly after the crash.
"There was an SUV under the plane, it hit another car in the parking lot and had hit another car on Brainerd Road that had two people in it," said Forester.
Police department spokesperson Sergeant Jerri Weary told NewsChannel 9 that four people, all from the plane, were injured. Weary said the plane was headed for a landing at the Chattanooga airport when it clipped a telephone pole.
Forester said there was no fire following the crash. However Weary says that Hazardous Materials Crews were called in to deal with a fuel spill.
"We didn't smell any gas," said Forester. "But the police officers got us out of the area in a hurry."
We'll have updates as quickly as they become available.
