Killed Because of Craigslist Classified?
Savannah police say a man was killed for his motorcycle after someone saw the bike for sale on Craigslist, arranged a meeting to look at it and then shot the owner.
Savannah-Chatham County police spokeswoman Gena Moore said Friday investigators believe the 26-year-old slaying victim, Thai Lam, was targeted because of his classified ad on the website. Police say Brandon Kent, 26, of Savannah stole the victim's Yamaha Ninja motorcycle Thursday after shooting Lam outside his home. They say Kent fled on the bike, but police surrounded and captured him after a chase.
Kent remained jailed Friday on a murder charge. He does not have a listed phone number and it was unknown if he'd hired an attorney.
