Victims Id'd in Double-Fatal Car Crash
The two victims in a weekend fatal car crash have been identified. Lori Amabile and George Shadwick were passengers in a car that crashed in an apparent attempt to escape police.
According the Dalton police department officers responded to a shoplifting call at the K-Mart on Walnut Avenue Sunday. Police say they spotted the suspect's S-U-V, chased them and tried to pull the men over. The said the SUV drove toward Interstate 75 driving erratically.
Police say they backed off the hot pursuit, however a short time later the SUV crashed at exit 341. It flipped, struck another car, and a concrete wall.
The driver, 34-year old Charles Shadwick, was flown to Erlanger Medical Center. His girlfriend, Amabile, and his father, George Shadwick, were pronounced dead at the scene.
