Two Arrested After High Speed Pursuit

Two people are jailed following a robbery at the Walgreens pharmacy in Ft. Oglethorpe last night, resulting in a pursuit that ended in Hamilton County.

The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office spotted the suspect vehicle, a 1994 Toyota Camry on Dietz Road in Catoosa County and attempted to make a stop. The vehicle fled onto the interstate north bound and entered Tennessee. The men continued on and left the interstate onto Highway 58.

Officers said at one point the man fired his weapon at them at least two times. Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies used spike strips to stop the suspect's vehicle on Jewell Road. Both suspects tried to run, but were quickly taken into custody.

The Camry had been reported stolen. A handgun along with a large amount of drugs were found inside the car. Both suspects were in possession of a large amount of cash.

The man was identified as Alex Sauseda, 29, and the woman is Jaime Patton/Steele, 27.

They are jailed, charged with Theft over $1000, three counts of Felony Possession of Controlled Substance for Resale.

Sauseda was also charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon while Patton was also charged with Accessory after the fact. Both have other charges pending as well as holds placed by law enforcement authorities from Georgia and South Carolina.
