Former Police Officer Says Wrong Report Damaged Reputation

    A former cop says a mistaken report about his arrest has destroyed his reputation and close relationships. Another Chattanooga television station reported Scott Hill was arrested Wednesday for possession of 500 grams of cocaine, but that did not happen.

     Hill worked almost five years for the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Before that, he worked at South Pittsburg and Chattanooga police.

    Hill says he was visiting a friend in Kimball Wednesday, when federal agents, the T-B-I and local police swarmed the house. Police charged Richard Evans, Senior with possession of 500 grams of cocaine.

    A detective on this case tells NewsChannel 9 a half-kilo was in the floorboard of his car. That same investigator says Hill had no cocaine on him. We checked, and court records show no such charge. NewsChannel 9 asked Hill how he could recover. He responded,  "You don't. You do not. It's embarrassing. Everywhere you go, it's embarrassing. My family, friends, it's terrible."

   Police did charge Hill with possession of hydro-codone that he had, in a Tylenol pill bottle. He said the prescription drugs are for a bad knee, and he put it in a smaller bottle to fit better in his pocket. He added he did not go to the ground quick enough when a TBI agent demanded him to because of his knee.
