Rhea County Man Suspect in Murder of Estranged-Wife's Boyfriend

Authorities in Rhea County, Tennessee are investigating the murder of Greg Brown. Apparently Brown was dating Vanessa Rogers. Rogers tells NewsChannel 9 that she was in the midst of a bitter divorce with Roy Lynn Rogers, 37. Click HERE to hear Vanessa Rogers describe the ordeal. She said they had been separated since March but that her estranged husband had been stalking her and that she had gone to great lengths to try and keep him away. She says that she and Brown were in her apartment around midnight last night when a shot was fired through the window, killing Brown instantly. Rogers' 15-year-old daughter was in the apartment at the time. The TBI has been called in to assist in the investigation.

Rogers says that her estranged husband is in custody, but at this time is only charged with violation of a protective order. Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal called him, "a person-of-interest" in the shooting and says the investigation continues.
