Dusty Stokes with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department says David Rogers, 48, is now in custody. Rogers has been holed up in a house on Ooltewah-Georgetown Road near Providence Road since the pre-dawn hours. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team has been on the scene negotiating with Rogers. Neighbors who lived in the immediate area were evacuated from there homes... but have now been allowed back in.

Ooltewah-Georgetown Rd. has been re-opened.

Stokes said that the situation began when Rogers came home from work and allegedly beat up his wife. She left and called police.

Rogers has been taken for a "mental health evaluation." Stokes say he faces multiple charges, including domestic assault and resisting arrest.
