A family in Georgetown loses everything to a fire. Around noon yesterday, a neighbor called 911 reporting a house fire on the 7200 block of Gamble Road. The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find heavy smoke and fire on the front of the house and the roof.
Unsure if people were inside, firefighters conducted a search and found no one. They began fighting the fire which had spread to brush and debris near by.
According to the homeowners, Ronnie and Angie Gann, they left the house around 11:30 a.m. to take their child to the doctor.
Assistant Chief, Danny Wright of the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department, confirmed the fire started by an electrical malfunction in the front living room area. Damages are estimated in $85,000. No injuries were reported but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for potential injuries. The Gann's and their four children will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. The family had no insurance.
