Losing Everything In A Fire
"I looked in his room, and the room was blazing. I think I ran through the house screaming and about the time we met in the dining room," says Sherry Witherow.
She was napping late Thursday night as the home she and Andre Tucker live in went up into flames.
She says she lost everything, and today, she's back at the shell of her home, "just looking to see if there's anything to salvage. cause we have nothing, we have...what you see is what we have...it's....nothing."
Fire investigators say they're still not sure what led to the fire at the corner of Dodson Avenue and Taylor Street.
Witherow and Tucker believe the fire may have electrical.
"Like i said," said Tucker, "what you see is all we have. I mean no ID, my phone burned up in the house, everything...I mean everything we own."
And to make matters worse, Witherow tells us she just recently lost her job.
She's been looking for help, and even has an interview on Monday. But she says she doesn't know where she's going to get the clothes, and the help she needs to get her life back in order.
"I'm smiling to keep from crying because I feel helpless, hopeless...lost. We have nothing. The money we had burned up in his billfold," she says.
Tucker and Witherow says they could use the help.
