H.S. student delayed emergency treatment
Comments 0 | Recommend 0KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a Knox County high school student who died from injuries suffered during a school activity didn't receive emergency medical attention until his mother drove him to a hospital.
Knox County sheriff's officials say Eric Law was one of four teenage boys riding in a pickup truck bed in a parking lot at Karns High School when he fell from the vehicle and struck his head Wednesday.
A family attorney said Law, a special education student, was helping students move furniture from one part of the campus to another under the supervision of their shop teacher when the accident happened.
Sheriff's officials say Law was then taken to the school office and his mother was called. When she arrived, she took him to the hospital where he lingered in critical condition until he died Monday.
