Patrol Officer Arrested for Child Sex Crimes

The NC State Bureau of Investigation arrested Murphy Police Department Sergeant Michael Thurman Hall, 51, and charged him with 11 counts of Indecent Liberties and 11 counts of 1st Degree Sexual Offense.
Hall was arrested and booked in Cherokee County and later he was transferred to Haywood County. His bond was set at $500,000.
The SBI investigation is ongoing.
