Bradley Sheriff Making Waves With New Podcasts

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble has started a daily TV show... on the Internet.

BCSOtv kicked off about a week ago. According to J. Michael Leonard, the project is the brainchild of the BCSO Special Projects Unit, which consists of Leonard and Perk Evans, a digital communication specialist and "tireless" BCSO volunteer.

Leonard said, "Evans actually suggested the Sheriff do a pod cast about a year ago when he revamped the BCSO website. Just recently, Sheriff Gobble decided the time was right the begin doing the podcast and wanted them to begin with the new year."

The Sheriff is having some fun with his podcasts, yesterday poking fun at other county leaders and the "Gobble Monster" made famous during a bitter budget dispute between the Sheriff and county leaders.

Leonard says one of the benefits of BCSOtv is to "provide unfiltered communication directly from the Sheriff to the citizens of Bradley County."

He says the costs are minimal with much of the expense being picked up by volunteers. He says it also provides a visual, real-time glimpse into the operations and accomplishments of the BCSO.

He says the feedback thus far has been overwhelmingly positive and the pod casts have had more than 1,000 unique views.

The podcasts are not being produced on a set schedule but to date they've posted one per day.

Leonard said, "We are also looking to expand BCSOtv to include videos filmed by the cameras in the deputies’ patrol cars, as well as other BCSO-related features."
