Sequatchie Co. Logger Killed

Sequatchie County Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock says a man was killed while logging on Daus Mountain Tuesday.
The crew was working near the Daus Community when part of a dead tree fell, killing Jeffrey Allen Smith, 33. The sheriff said Smith lived in the south end of Sequatchie County.
Others were working on the tree but he was the only one on the ground and the only one injured.
Sheriff Hitchcock called it a "freak accident."
I happened at 10:50 am (CDT). The Sheriff said it took about an hour-and-a-half to get Smith off the mountain.
