Man Killed When Tractor Rolls Over

In the early evening hours of Sept. 1, emergency crews were called to the home of Bobby Standridge on County Road 360 in DeKalb County, Ala.

Family members said the found Mr. Standridge’s tractor overturned in a pond in the pasture behind the home. Crews located the 81-year-old man's body in the water.

Dep. Freddie Hairell said it appeared that Standridge was working near the pond with a front-end loader when the tractor rolled and Standridge was trapped as the tractor went into the pond.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris said, “This was a terribly tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Standridge family at this time.”
