An 18-year-old Ooltewah High School student had to be shocked with a Taser by a School Resource Officer Friday afternoon.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Dusty Stokes said the student got into a fight with another student and  the SRO ordered the student to stop fighting. Stokes said when the student failed to obey the SRO's orders to stop fighting he shocked the student using a Taser.

Hamilton County paramedics were dispatched to the school to check the student out, but no serious injuries were reported and the student was not transported to a hospital.

Stokes said charges are pending against the student.
