Update: Video: McCallie-Signal Mountain Fight Leads To Arrests, Expulsions and Suspensions

Police arrest 13 students from two different schools after a brawl at Signal Mountain High Monday afternoon.

A cell phone camera captured the parking lot brawl which started right after classes dismissed at 2:15. Signal Mountain police say four McCallie students, all of them drinking, drove to the school in two separate vehicles. Investigating officers say Myles Stout went there to start a fight, but the McCallie students were greatly outnumbered.

After police sorted it out, three McCallie students were arrested, along with an unidentified juvenile. All were charged with criminal trespass and drinking under age and all were expelled.

All nine Signal Mountain High students face rioting and disorderly conduct charges . All have been suspended. Police say this fight had been brewing for some time.   Captain Gregg Hall elaborated, "My understanding is that students from both schools knew this was going to happen. But none of our people were made aware of it and none of the staff at school was made aware of it."

Police say more charges may come against the students involved.

Of the four McCallie students, McCallie spokesman Billy Faires told NewsChannel 9, "they made a string of bad decisions."

Hamilton County spokesperson Danielle Clark said in an e-mailed statement, "Signal Mountain police were called and are in charge of the criminal investigation. Following our disciplinary procedures, we have suspended our (nine) students pending the outcome of an internal investigation into the provoked incident. Upon completion of our review, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken."

NewsChannel 9 has obtained video of the incident shot on a cell phone. The video has been distorted to protect the identities of the students involved, although three of the McCallie students are adults.
