Ooltewah Students Suspended For Video Fight
Two students were involved in a fight at Ooltewah High School last week. The incident took place in the boy's bathroom after school and one student captured it all with his cell phone.
Principal Mark Bean says the fight was prearranged so it could be caught on video. The incident was then posted on Youtube and titled, "Timmy Fight OHS." In the video, there are several students watching the fight as someone is filming it. School administrators say videos like this one make it very clear that social media is taking school related incidents in a different direction.
"Students are very creative. They can emulate anything" says Bean.
And School Board Member Chester Bankston says there's little to nothing that can be done about it.
"We can't control youtube. There's nothing you can do about it."
This past December, two students from the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy had a similar video posted on Youtube.
