Whiffle Ball Game Leads to Assault at McCallie School
Chattanooga Police Juvenile Investigators are currently looking into an apparent fight over a whiffle ball game that seriously injured a McCallie School student.
On Sunday police were called to the McCallie School gym around 3:15 pm. They found a 14-year-old student unconscious and unresponsive.
Lt. Kim Noorbergen said that according to one witness, there was a whiffle ball game going on in the gym. Two of the students got into a fight over the game and one boy knocked the other unconscious.
The unidentified student was admitted to T C Thompson with a serious head injury; however his condition is improving and he's been moved to a private room today.
Both of the students were first year McCallie School Students. It's not clear if they are local students, or boarding students from out-of-town. Neither has been identified due to their age. No charges have been placed but police say the investigation continues.
