Visitation for Longtime LFO Teacher Today
Visitation for longtime teacher and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School assistant principal Ron Arp will be today from 2-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mr. Arp, as he was affectionaly known by students, passed away Monday. He had been at LFO since it opened in 1973, and had served as assistant principal for the past four years.
Although Arp had been a wrestling coach early in his career, his passion was teaching history. He was a fair but firm teacher who touched thousands of kids' lives.
Mr. Arp was involved with in the Fort Oglethorpe Kiwanis Club and the Key Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jan "Doodle" Arp; sons, Matt Arp and Mason Arp, both of Ringgold.
Visitation will also be tomorrow from 2-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Parkway Baptist Temple.
