Former teacher gets diversion on sex charge
Comments 0 | Recommend 0TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former West Tennessee teacher has pleaded no contest to a statutory rape charge.
Thirty-eight-year-old Tracy Hinson - a longtime teacher and cheerleading coach at Lake County High School - was accused of having sex with a male student. She entered a no-contest plea in a Lake County court on Tuesday that has the same legal effect as a guilty plea.
Hinson was placed on judicial diversion, a form of probation, for two years.
She resigned from teaching in May while under investigation on allegations of improper conduct with a student.
