A hearing date has been set for a 14-year-old charged with raping and murdering a little girl. The child, who we have not identified because of his age, appeared in court this afternoon.

Next month the juvenile court will decide if he will be tried as an adult. He is accused of raping and murdering three year old Gracie Trentham. She was rushed to T.C.Thompson Children's Hospital in late April.

Detectives say the injuries from the rape lead to her death. Trentham and the suspect were living in the same house in Georgetown when the crime happened.

The hearing deciding if he's tried as a child or adult happens June 18th.
