Dalton Police Arrest Purse Theft Suspects

The Dalton Police Department arrested Melissa Rodriguez and Steven Rodriguez, Jr, both of 105 Allen Drive in Dalton, and charged them in connection with the theft of $220 from a purse stolen at the Kroger grocery store.

After surveillance images from the crime were released to the media on August 24^th, investigators got a call from the Rodriguez family stating that they wanted to return the money.  After a formal interview, investigators obtained warrants for the arrest of Melissa and her son Steven.  They turned themselves in to the Whitfield County Jail on August 30^th.  Melissa was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property and shoplifting, while Steven was charged with tampering with evidence.
