Black Belt Captures Wanted Man Who 'Knocked on the Wrong Door'
For the first time we are coming face to face with the man who helped bring a manhunt in Cleveland to an end.

Bradley
County Sheriff's Department and the SWAT team were searching for a man
Sunday night and had a warrant out for his arrest.

Mark Howard
was ending a visit with his mother Sunday evening. He was headed out the
door, but happened to stay just a few extra minutes.

Those few minutes were all it took.

"At
10:30 last night there was a real light tap, tap, tap at the door,"
Howard said. "5 minutes before I'd seen his picture on the news, and I
knew it was him."

29-year-old David Jason Goode was at the door, wanted for aggravated assault.

"I
put a little pistol on my side. I'm not going to shoot anyone, just
going to be prepared. I pulled it out and said freeze. He said, 'woah
dude, I ain't got a gun. just this knife on my side."

Goode tried to run, but was stuck. He had knocked on the door of a black belt martial arts master.

"I said, put your hands behind your back, I chicken winged the right arm, and left down the left, sat down and yelled 'mom!'"

His mother, Bettie Howard, came running.

"I heard the shot, and Mark yelling," she said. "I thought he'd been shot."

But
no one had been hurt, it was a warning shot. Mark said his training in
martial arts, and knowing what to do in that moment saved his life, his
mother's, and even Goode's.

"I want him to get his life right with the Lord, and his act straightened up."

Bradley County police arrived, and Goode was later booked into the Bradley County Jail.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, theft, violation of probation and failure to appear.
