Cleveland Judge Dead in Apparent Suicide
The city of Cleveland is mourning the death of Judge Bill Moss, who apparently took his own life Monday morning.
Cleveland police officers responded this morning to a shots fired call to a parking lot at 4th Street and Broad Street at about 11 a.m. Monday.
They found the body of Judge Bill Moss. Officers tell NewsChannel9 they determined "Judge Moss suffered from a gunshot wound, which was possibly self-inflicted."
James Logan, of Logan-Thompson Law Firm, told NewsChannel9, 'the City of Cleveland and Bradley County lost one of its great citizens today. Bill Moss was the kind of judge whose integrity was beyond reproach.
He knew how to treat people in a courtroom with dignity and in a manner in which they knew they had been treated fairly.'
Moss was 75 years old, and is survived by two daughters.
The Medical Examiner has taken the body to Knoxville for an autopsy.
