Dalton Police Seek Shopping Spree Suspect
Dalton Police need your help finding a woman who stole credit and debit cards, and then went on a shopping spree - buying more than $1,400 worth of stuff in Dalton and Calhoun.
Police say the victim in the case reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she worked at Hamilton Medical Center on July 25th.
When she discovered the wallet was missing she checked with her bank and learned that her debit card had already been used at that day at the TJ Maxx in Dalton and the Home Depot in Calhoun for more than $600 in purchases.
Dalton investigators checked out activity on her credit card and found that it had been used for more than $800 in purchases at the Calhoun outlet mall at the Skecher’s, Nike, and Polo stores.
Detective Sam Eaton retrieved surveillance video from some of the stores and found a black female wearing glasses and a long “chevron” patterned dress with long hair possibly in braids was using the stolen cards.
Detective Eaton also found video of the same female entering Hamilton Medical Center on July 25th in a maroon SUV, possibly an Isuzu Rodeo or Honda Passport and walking around the halls checking doors around the administrative offices.
Witnesses at both the hospital and the Calhoun outlets remembered meeting the suspect and described her as having a Jamaican accent.
If you can identify this woman or have any other information about this crime, call Detective Sam Eaton at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and then enter extension 158.
