A shocking story of two children shot with a BB gun at close range. The two and six year old were rushed to the hospital with injuries.
Their mother, Taira Cadeza, says she can't believe who pulled the trigger. "My kids idolized him. They called him Uncle Poole."
Once a family friend--now known as the man charged for shooting a two and six-year-old child. Cadeza says it all started yesterday at Superior Creek Lodge when she left her kids with the babysitter and Jeremy Poole came over to borrow the phone.
"He started cussing her and going crazy and throwing things. He told the children to go into the bedroom. She had gone to the bathroom and he went into the bedroom and started shooting. My son told me that he was asleep on the bed and that he pulled down his pants and shot him right there."
Poole says he shot the young boy because he didn't know the gun was loaded. He told police the second shot was aimed at the wall- to verify that the BB gun was still loaded. But that shot, hit Cadeza's 2-year-old daughter near her spine.
Both children were rushed to the hospital, but Cadeza's hotel complex had a plan of their own.
"All that they'll tell me is that I have to leave and if I don't leave they'll set my stuff out. I have six kids there and I don't have anywhere to take them. I have a two-year-old that's still in the hospital."
Now, with no where to go, Cadeza hopes others can learn from her misfortune. "Just watch out who you trust because I trusted him my whole life."
