Family Wants Answers for Cold Case Involving Rhea Man's Murder
Two years ago this week, Russel Blevins was found dead inside his Kingston, Tennessee home - a home that had also been robbed.
Police still have made no arrests.
His family still wants to know who is responsible.
Blevins grew up in Rhea county. His sister, Margie Kaylor, still lives in Dayton.
She says, "On the 12th of August I got a phone call saying he had been shot.. and it was just devastating, because he was such a wonderful person."
Blevins was 85 years old.
He served in the Navy in World War II his sister says he lived to take care of people, and he loved animals.
Two years after her brother's death she still has a lot of questions.
"Why? That's been on my mind since it happened. Why? Why haven't they found someone? What have they missed? And why is he gone?"
This week we contacted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to see if they had answers to any of those questions.
They told us it's an on-going investigation and they will not release any specifics of that investigation.
Margie told us she wants closure. She just wants the person or the people responsible for this to be found.
"I just want it solved. Wwe need to close it. We do need to close it."
Kaylor says she thinks of her brother every day.
The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to solving this case.
