GMC Webcast: VW Celebration Tease
New jobs, million dollar investment... all the Volkswagen news calls for a celebration.
State and local leaders are on their way back to Chattanooga from Germany after Monday's major announcement.
Volkswagen is bringing 2,200 jobs to the Scenic City with a new production line.
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, along with Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and U.S. Senator Bob Corker were all present at the announcement.
They will all be in Chattanooga Tuesday, to celebrate the expansion of the Chattanooga plant.
The Volkswagen Group of America CEO and President, and the Chattanooga Plant's manager will also be in the scenic city for the celebration.
It will be at the Hunter Museum at 4 p.m.The same place where Volkswagen announced its plans to build the VW Passat in Chattanooga six years ago, to the day.
