NewsChannel 9 doesn't have concrete confirmation, but an employee on the inside says it appears to be moving in that direction.

the CrossBlue being manufactured here. However, this person understands
it will happen and that an announcement is scheduled for Monday.

CrossBlue itself, a Village Volkswagen employee said the SUV would help
them competitively in the 7-passenger division.The vehicle has only been
seen as a prototype.
It has been reported that either Mexico or Chattanooga would be awarded production.
NewsChannel 9 reached out to Volkswagen in Chattanooga, its corporate communications office and CEO Martin Winterkorn himself.
Also, requests went to the offices of Senator Corker and Governor Haslam.

official announcement has happened and it has no comment.
And this buzz comes just one day after the announcement that UAW plans to open a Local 42 office in Chattanooga.
However, Senator Corker, who has opposed UAW from the outset, said yesterday's development hasn't been clear.
Chief of Staff, Todd Womack, released this statement. "There has been
some confusion about what happened yesterday related to the UAW's
announcement that they are opening an office in Chattanooga and its
impact on Volkswagen's expansion considerations," He went on to say,
"The fact is, nothing happened. Any union can rent space in any city and
open an office. Volkswagen made it very clear in their statement that
they have no agreement whatsoever with the UAW."
As for the production of CrossBlue, time will tell.
