Jaylen Parris - A Little Girl with a Big Heart!

Selfless spirits come in all sizes.

This week's story begins at Cleveland's Deer Park where we meet a woman who is over-the-moon to honor this week's "Pay it Forward" recipient.

Ruby Watson is beaming from ear to ear as she says, "We're 'Paying it Forward' to Jaylen Parris. She's a little 7-year-old girl, didn't want anything for her birthday, just wanted everybody to bring a card with a donation for kids with cancer."

"I'm a cancer survivor and I saw her mom's post on Facebook, and what better way to help than to Pay it Forward," she exclaims.

Ruby tells me that Jaylen is raising money for the kids of St. Jude.

"She wanted to raise $1,000 to take them and when she didn't get enough for her birthday party she set up a lemonade stand in front of her house. Her mom made cupcakes for her so she sells cupcakes and lemonade in front of her house."

And, that's where we're told Jaylen's collecting money again this morning.

We count out our $500 in 'Pay it Forward' cash and arrive at the house where only the adults are in on Jaylen's surprise.

Ruby walks up to the lemonade stand and asks Jaylen, "Are you selling cupcakes? Can I buy some cupcakes and some lemonade?"

Jaylen tells Ruby she's raising money for St. Jude.

Ruby replies, "Jaylen, on behalf of NewsChannel 9 and McMahan Law Firm I want to 'Pay it Forward' to you... I think you're an awesome little girl to be doing this."

A surprised Jaylen smiles and hugs her.

"Thank you," Jaylen says.

Jaylen's father, Scott, tells me they're taking a family vacation to Memphis with an important mission in mind.

"She wants to go down and physically take the money down to St. Jude. We've called ahead. They're fine with it. So, we're going to go down at the end of July and physically take it to them."

Jaylen is a bit camera shy, but quietly shares with her dad why she wants to help children battling cancer.

"Momma's grandmother, her little boy died from Leukemia," Jaylen whispers as she chokes back tears.

Scott kneels down and hugs his daughter -- a picture perfect moment that shows us all that you're never too young to Pay it Forward.

As of today Jaylen's mother says her daughter's raised $2,426.77 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
