Jim Tracy Concedes Races Against Scott DesJarlais
Tennessee Senator Jim Tracy has conceded a 38-vote primary loss to incumbent 4th District Congressman Scott DesJarlais (pictured) instead of taking the challenge directly the Tennessee Republican Party.
In a statement released to media outlets, Tracy said, “I have called Rep. DesJarlais to inform him of my decision to concede and congratulated him. One reason why I am at peace about my decision is that I am devoted to my service as the Senator from the Fourteenth Senatorial District of Tennessee."
According to the most recent results from the Tennessee Secretary of State's office, DesJarlais garnered 34,793 (44.89%) of the vote while Tracy garnered 34,755 (44.84%) votes.
Tracy had the option of challenging the outcome before the party's state primary board which is comprised of all members from the party's state executive committee.
