Ooltewah Stabbing Investigation
A man is dead and a woman remains in serious condition suffering from multiple stab wounds during a domestic dispute, according to Hamilton County Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson Janice Atkinson.
Officers were called to the scene around 6:25 Saturday evening at 8008 Short Tail Springs Rd.
The man, identified as 52-year-old Robert Boyle, was taken to Erlanger Hospital by helicopter. On Monday, authorities reported that Boyle had died from his injuries.
Police haven't released either person's identity.
We got to speak with the witness who called 911. This is what he tells us.
"I looked over and there was a lady stumbling out of her house," Jerry Newell said. "A bloody mess. She was holding a butcher knife."
Newell was driving along Short Tail Springs Rd in Ooltewah, headed to the corner gas station.
His night took a serious turn when a woman came staggering out of the home to the right of him. He watched as she grabbed onto the car in front of him, and he called 911.
"I was scared because I didn't know if someone was going to chase after her," he said. "Was through cutting her, so I stuck around."
Neighbors, and witnesses watched as officers investigated, and took photos of the car the injured woman desperately clung to.
"Domestic violence really is everywhere, not just in the city, it's out here in the county too,"
