Sales went up for fireworks
One local fireworks store had a booming holiday weekend.
NewsChannel 9's Natalie Jenereski spoke with the store owners to see how sales compared to other years.
Bottle rockets, Roman candles, and Sparklers for the kids.
It doesn't matter... Fireworks were literally flying off the shelves with extra shipments being called in every few hours over July 3rd and 4th.
Exit 1a fireworks has been in business for three years.
The bright green store is just off I-75 in East Ridge and is family owned and operated.
"It was beyond what was expected," Keesha Woodard, manager of Exit 1a Fireworks, said. "We thought we were prepared. We had over ordered. And were actually kind of nervous until Thursday which was the 3rd and the 3rd was really equivalent to our July 4th last year and then on July 4th it was just unbelievable."
Woodard attributes the economy for one reason sales were so great.
For Good Morning Chattanooga, Natalie Jenereski, NewsChannel 9.
Last July fourth fell on a Thursday and if you remember, most of our viewing area was drenched with rain.
But there was no rain this year, hopefully making your Independence Day a fun one.
