Shopping for Snow Essentials
With the threat of more snow headed our way, shoppers are loading up on the food essentials.
They are not getting caught without being prepared, like so many people were two weeks ago.
Sunday was Jackie Jones seventh day as manager of the Save-A-Lot in Hixson. She said she has learned more on the job in seven days than many have had working there for years.
The store was packed with customers preparing for the possible snow.
"Everybody's coming in and buying bread and eggs mostly," Jone said. "I've had to restock about 4-to-5 times today."
One employee said he has bagged more than 100 people's groceries since Sunday morning.
Down the road at Enzo's Market it has been just as busy for owner Sam Turner, and his employees. However, he said he is used to it. That is because he has been running different markets in Chattanooga for more than 30 years.
"People come out because they don't want to get trapped at home," Turner said. "If you don't have your utilities, you want to have some food around."
Believe or not, some shoppers told us they are hoping for a little bit of snowfall, especially now that they are prepared.
"We're stocking up for a week of snow hopefully. Hopefully we get snowed in, and we have our food, we're prepared. We're ready if it happens again," said Mary Margaret, and her mother Marnie.
And hopefully, you at home, are too.
