Sunday Morning Fire at Popular NorthShore Restaurant
Chattanooga fire crews responded to a call at a popular north shore restaurant just before 3:00 Sunday morning.
Chief Don Bowman said the fire is still under investigation, but crews believe they've determined the cause. "The vent system for the store is what actually caught on fire. The actual ventilation chimney also caught on fire. We had to extricate a lot of material from that", said CFD Chief Don Bowman.
Bowman also said this fire should serve as a reminder to everyone, even home cooks to clean out vent systems regularly and completely.
According to the FoodWorks Facebook page the restaurant will be closed indefinitely while they work to repair the damage caused by the fire.
FoodWorks has been at the 205 Manufacturers Road location since 2006.
