An apparent home invasion leads to a shooting, sending one man to the hospital. Now police are on the hunt for the suspects and the entire neighborhood is on edge.
Police say it all happened at the Elements of Chattanooga Apartments off Standifer Gap Road around 9:30 Friday night.
"All of the sudden I hear this loud pop and I jump up and I look out my back window and I see this car speeding off," said Alaynna Cline who is a neighbor of the victim.
Cline says she's still trying to process what happened.
"I ran and got my daughter out of the crib," she told us. "All of the sudden cops and firetrucks just start rushing by. We all walk outside and there's cops everywhere, people were running everywhere."
When officers got there, they say they found 33-year-old Brandon Langford with a gunshot wound to the leg.
"There were guys running with blood on their pants by us saying my neighbor just got shot," said Alyssa Smith, a friend who was staying with Cline.
The sight rattled many neighbors in the area. But throughout it all, Cline says they have no plans to leave.
"We've only lived here a few months and this is the only bad thing that's happened here," she said.
Police say the only suspect information they have at this time is two black males were involved.
As for Langford, he was taken to Erlanger for the non-life threatening injury.
If you have any information, you're urged to contact the Chattanooga Police Department.
