Vietnam Vet Wins College Scholarship
It's not every day that a 64 year old is awarded a college scholarship. But that's what happened Tuesday to a Vietnam veteran who calls Chattanooga home got a chance to begin a
Larry Lampmann is a 64-year-old Chattanooga native and adjunct professor at Chattanooga State. (An adjunct professor is a part-time professor who is hired on a contractual basis rather than being given tenure and a permanent position.)
Lampmann has also spent most of his life disabled, but he hasn't let his disability define him. In fact, he aspires to go to college and get a degree.
That dream became a reality Tuesday evening, when he became the first of 10 Tennesseans to receive a scholarship, courtesy of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and WGU Tennessee.
