Toy Run For Kids Saturday
Comments 0Motorcycle riders can help put a toy in the hands of a child this holiday season by participating in the upcoming Hamilton County Toy Run. It is a free ride to collect holiday toys for children affected by domestic violence and homelessness. The event will benefit children served by the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and Chattanooga Room in the Inn.
The ride will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, at KMART, located at 4801 Highway 58 in Chattanooga.
The toy run will leave KMART at 11 a.m. and will conclude at Ultimate Cycles & Scooters at 103 Jubilee Drive; at the intersection of East Brainerd Road and Brainerd Road. Non-riders are welcome to bring donations of unwrapped toys to Ultimate Cycles & Scooters until Noon. that day.
Event organizer, Joe Guffey, says that many people have a misconception about motorcyclists and associate bad behavior with them. However, Mr. Guffey says they can be just as soft-hearted and generous as the next person. “And at the end of the day, this event is really just all about the kids”, says Mr. Guffey. The event collected a trailer load of toys in 2008, providing presents to dozens of children in shelter.
No registration is required to participate. All riders are asked to bring a donation of an unwrapped toy for any age child. Participants should be at KMART no later than 10:45 to line up. For more information on Hamilton County Toy Run, you may contact event organizer Joe Guffey at 423-227-5682 or frmc07@yahoo.com.
