I75 Crash Halts Traffic

What a mess it was!

Interstate traffic heading toward downtown Chattanooga this morning looked more like a parking lot than a freeway. I-75 South was at a standstill near East Brainerd around 9 o'clock. All soutbound lanes were shut down. Traffic was blocked for some time as emergency workers freed several people from the crash.  One vehicle was reportedly on its top. Chattanooga Police say several people were taken to the hospital, one of them a child.

Their injuries are  not believed to be life-threatening. The interstate has since been cleared - as has a separate crash,  just after that one, on Highway 153 South near Lee Highway.
