At about 7 am Friday, a food vender was robbed at gunpoint while on the lot of Curbs Plus on Carline Road in Rossville. The vender was backed up to a door leading from the south end of the building where he stops daily to serve food and drinks from his truck. Sheriff Steve Wilson said, he also cashes payroll checks for employees.
The vender had just finished serving several customers when he was approached by a man who placed a gun to the vender's head. The vendor keeps money in his coat and in a money belt. The suspect made the vender remove his coat and his belt then fled the scene.
A witness said he saw three men running north on Carline Road in front of the Curbs Plus building. The subjects ran to a silver 2000 Pontiac Grand Am (spoiler with no tag) which was left running on Carline Road close to the North end of the building.
The suspect vehicle left the scene travelling north on Carline Road. Witnesses said they thought there were 4 people in the car.
The gunman is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5-5" to 5"7' tall, last seen wearing a dark toboggan cap and a black hoodie. He brandished a black semi-automatic pistol. The other 2 suspects were also wearing dark hoodies.
