Marion Co. Murder Suspect on TBI Top 10 Most Wanted

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today added a man wanted for the recent murder of his girlfriend in Marion County, TN to its list of Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives after a First Degree Murder warrant was taken out for his arrest on Wednesday November 4, 2009.
There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Michael Joseph Shirley, 29, last known address 142 Cheri Circle, Whitwell, TN is wanted for the beating and stabbing death of 27-year-old Brandi Duba. Law enforcement authorities discovered Duba’s body on November 3, 2009 in the residence she shared with the suspect. There were two small children sleeping in the living room when her body was found in a bedroom. Thevictim’s vehicle was also discovered burned and abandoned a short distance from the home.
Shirley has violent criminal history dating back to 1999 that includes theft, drug charges, evading arrest, assaulting a police officer, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and DUI.
Shirley is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s approximately 6’3”, weighs 225 lbs and has numerous tattoos including a swastika on his back. He is considered armed and dangerous and should be approached with caution. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Michael Joseph Shirley is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
