Wilson Moves from BCBS to Volkswagen
Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations, LLC has chosen Scott Wilson as its Community Relations Specialist. Wilson assumed his responsibilities on Nov. 30 and reports directly to Dr. Guenther Scherelis, General Manager of Communications.
His extensive experience in media relations and public affairs will be integral as the company completes the auto manufacturing facility at Enterprise South. In his role, Wilson will serve as a liaison to the Chattanooga community as Volkswagen puts down roots in the Tennessee Valley, location of its only production facility in the United States.
According to Scherelis “Scott’s passion and commitment to excellence in communication and his devotion to the Chattanooga area matches our own standards for quality and excellence. His addition to our team comes at the perfect time as we enter the crucial period of plant construction and preparations for car production.”
Wilson most recently served as the Public Affairs Manager for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, where he functioned as spokesman and media liaison for commercial markets. He has served on the board of philanthropic organizations over the course of his professional career.
Wilson earned his degree in journalism from UTC and is originally from the Chicago area.
