Wreckage Of Missing Plane Found
UPDATE: 7/9/09 9:52PM
Crews in western North Carolina have found the wreckage of a plane that was headed to Cherokee County.
The Cessna went missing Friday after leaving Cleveland, Georgia on its way to the Andrews-Murphy Airport.
The FAA says the wreckage was found in neighboring Clay County earlier this afternoon, with the body of pilot Bill Allison inside. Allison crashed just seven miles from the airport.
Crews discovered the plane in a heavily wooded area and ground crews say it took several hours to get to the scene of the wreckage.
No word yet on what brought down the plane.
