Dave's Diamond Darlings
NewsChannel 9 is proud once again to present Dave's Diamond Darlings... one of the longest-running, most popular, award-winning franchises in Chattanooga television history.
Dave's Diamond Darlings was born fourteen years ago in 1994. Since then he has garnered too many awards to count, including seven prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and three national Murrow awards... and he is currently competing for his fourth national award (to be announced in June).
Dan Shelley, RTNDA Chairman has said, "By design, it is not easy to win (a Murrow). Consecutive Murrows is an extraordinary feat indeed."

Dave has also won an Emmy, four Emmy nominations and eight Society of Professional Journalism awards.
The subject of Dave's Diamond Darling is always little kids who, as Dave says, are "learning how to play the game of baseball.”

Dave has full access to the field for some of the most amazing, fun point-of-view shots possible as he focuses his lens on the "minor leagues."

Dave prefers to play the role of "one-man band" on his Darling shoots. As photographer, reporter, writer, producer and editor he controls the product from conception to completion.
Dave and Sports Director Darrell Patterson are proud of the special feature delivered week-after-week, as well as the public recognition. However they never forget who they're really working for.
"The bottomline is, regardless of how much people in the business are impressed with the product you put out there," said Patterson, "they are not the people you are talking to night after night after night -- the viewer is."
Diamond Darlings airs for thirteen weeks during the summer months on NewsChannel 9 at 5:00. Of course you can always check back here and watch your favorite Diamond Darlings, on demand.
