Spooky Days are Back at Creative Discovery Museum
Stories, cider and pumpkin carving at Creative Discovery Museum's annual Spooky Days event, four Saturdays in October (10, 17, 24 & 31) from 1- 4 p.m.
Spooky Days
Storytellers for this year's event include Jim Pfitzer, a Chattanooga native whose professional career spans festivals and events across the Southeast and Mid-West; Vincent Phipps, the resident storyteller and guide for Chattanooga Ghost Tours; and Eric Litwin, a five time national award winning storyteller and singer/songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia.
Spooky Days is a great opportunity to present a program for the entire family to enjoy while also helping to expand a child's exposure to the language arts, said Liza Blair, Arts Manager for Creative Discovery Museum. Storytelling is such a rich art form and one that is often underappreciated. We are so fortunate to have the caliber of tellers at this year's event. Each performer has a unique style best suited for their stories, which are child friendly spooky tales.
Also represented during all four days of the event are local pumpkin artists who will demonstrate how to carve intricate designs on pumpkins. Warm apple cider and smores will also be available.
Museum admission is $9.95 for children and adults. Creative Discovery Museum is located at 321 Chestnut Street in downtown Chattanooga. For more information, call (423) 756-2738, or visit www.cdmfun.org.
