A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Sargent received his baccalaureate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He obtained additional training in craniofacial surgery with Dr. Paul Tessier in Paris, France. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Sargent is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Dr. Sargent joined the Plastic Surgery Group in 1987, where he founded the Tennessee Craniofacial Center, serving as its medical director. Under his leadership, the center has grown to be nationally recognized with patients referred from over forty states across the U.S. as well as several foreign countries.
Dr. Sargent is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. His special areas of interest are craniofacial and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Sargent is a frequent visiting lecturer and has an extensive bibliography, including a book on Craniofacial Surgery.
Mark A. Brzezienski, M.D. joined The Plastic Surgery Group and Hayes Hand Center in August 1995. Dr. Brzezienski is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Dr. Brzezienski is also the Director of Research and the Program Director for the Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Brzezienski trains resident physicians pursuing the specialties of both plastic & reconstructive and orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Brzezienski’s plastic surgery practice encompasses a special interest in breast reconstruction following mastectomy as well as aesthetic procedures of the breast. In addition, he has an extensive practice in aesthetic procedures of the face and all aspects of body contouring.
Additionally, he treats a wide variety of hand problems through Hayes Hand Center. His Orthopaedic Hand Surgery fellowship and experience allow him to provide comprehensive care in this specialized area.
Dr. Brzezienski is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed General Surgery training at the University of Connecticut and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Hand Surgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center of Thomas Jefferson University.
He is an active member of the Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Society having served as President, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, President of the Medical Foundation and Vice Chairman of IMPACT, a political action committee for medicine. He is the youngest physician to receive the Distinguished Service Award for his development and sustenance of the Medical Youth Leadership Forum. In addition, Dr. Brzezienski is a member of numerous national medical professional societies, is a published author in scientific journals and lectures frequently on a wide variety of subjects within his field of specialty.
Dr. Brzezienski and his wife, Jayne, live in Ooltewah with their two children, Isabella and Alexandra.
J. Woodfin (Woody) Kennedy, M.D. joined The Plastic Surgery Group, P.C. and Hayes Hand Center in July, 1997. Dr. Kennedy is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a candidate member of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kennedy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UT College of Medicine.
Dr. Kennedy has a special interest in cosmetic surgery of the breast and abdomen and treats a wide variety of hand problems through Hayes Hand Center.
Dr. Kennedy, a native of Alexander City, Alabama, is a graduate of Auburn University and The University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency at The University of Alabama-Birmingham and his Plastic Surgery residency at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Following his completion of his Plastic Surgery residency, he completed a residency in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Dr. Kennedy served as Erlanger Medical System’s Chief of Staff for two consecutive 2 year appointments in 2011 and 2012 and is a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Hospital Authority doing business as Erlanger Health Systems. He is now serving as Past Chief of Staff at Erlanger Hospital. Dr. Kennedy is President of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Association for Hand Surgery.
Dr. Kennedy and his wife Carrie, reside in Red Bank. They divide their time between their two daughters, Mary Davis and Lydia who are studying at Auburn University.
Jason P. Rehm, M.D. joined The Plastic Surgery Group, P.C. in August, 2004. This practice was established in 1958 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Rehm is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga and trains resident physicians pursuing the specialties of both plastic and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Rehm is Associate Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program at UT.
Dr. Rehm’s plastic surgery practice encompasses both a special interest in cosmetic procedures of the breast and abdomen and reconstructive procedures following traumatic injuries and cancer surgery involving the breast or face. He is trained in all aspects of plastic surgery of the face and body.
In addition, Dr. Rehm cares for a wide variety of hand and wrist related problems through Hayes Hand Center. His orthopedic Hand Surgery training and microsurgical experience allow him to provide comprehensive care of patients with devastating traumatic injuries, repetitive use problems, and arthritis.
Dr. Rehm is a graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He completed General Surgery training at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and Plastic and reconstructive Surgery training at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga Unit. After completing his Plastic Surgery residency in June 2003, he completed a fellowship in Hand/Microvascular Surgery at The University of Mississippi in Jackson in July, 2004. Dr. Rehm is an active member of the local Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society as well as numerous national societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
He and his wife, Jamie, live on Signal Mountain with their two boys, Charlie and Austin.

Dr. Waldrop is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, he completed General Surgery residency and Surgical Critical Care/Trauma fellowship at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. He subsequently completed a comprehensive Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency also at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. After completion of surgical training, he joined The Plastic Surgery Group, P.C. Dr. Waldrop is a Full Time Assistant Professor at The University of Tennessee Department of Plastic Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Waldrop’s practice includes cosmetic surgery of the breast, abdomen, and face. Specifically, breast augmentation, lift, and reduction, tummy tuck, liposuction, face lift, eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty. In addition to cosmetic surgery, he also performs complex reconstructive surgery and microsurgery. This includes reconstruction of the face, head/neck, breast, trunk, abdomen, or extremities after cancer surgery and trauma. He also has special interest in treatment of facial fractures and skin cancer. He is fully trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Waldrop resides on Signal Mountain with his wife and daughter. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, wake boarding, rock climbing, and hunting.
