Nyshier Oliver charged with shoplifting

Another Vol Footballer In Trouble

Just one day after Lane Kiffin kicked two players off his Tennessee Vols team after their arrest on armed robbery charges somes word that Vols freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver was issued a citation for shoplifting on November 7th.

According to police, Oliver was spotted putting a $110 Polo shirt into his shopping bag at Dillard's department store in West Town Mall.  The off duty Knox County deputy, who was working security at the store, cited Oliver on shoplifting charges.

That incident happened just hours before the Vols game with Memphis.

UT Athletic Department spokesperson Tiffany Carpenter said Oliver's punishment was handled internally, but he was taken off the dress roster for the Memphis game and banned from team activities.

Oliver will be in court next Monday... the same day Nu'Keese Richardson and Janzen Jackson are in court on attempted armed robbery charges.
