Sheets, Brewers Handcuff Braves
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Braves and Milwaukee Brewers started a three-game series in Atlanta Monday night. JoJo Reyes, who had five straight impressive outings, pitching for Atlanta.
That was not the case in this game. The Brewers lit him up like a 4th of July firecracker. Mike Cameron got things started with a second inning two-run homer. Three straight third inning doubles, the last two by J.J. Hardy and Ryan Braun, plated two more runs... Reyes is finished after just two-and-a-third innings... he gives up 4 runs on 6 hits.
The Braves bullpen did just fine.... six-and two-third shutout innings... but the damage had been done... and Ben Sheets was masterful on the mound for the Brewers.
Sheets pitches all 9 innings, giving up only one run, 4 hits with 7 strikeouts.
4-1 the Brewers win the series opener.
